Synod Resources and Links for Families!

The Synod is coming!

A synod, in the Catholic Church, is a process of journeying together. Our Bishop Lucia, Bishop of Syracuse, as well as Pope Francis, have declared a synod. Bishop Lucia’s synod is a chance for him to listen to the people in the Diocese of Syracuse. Pope Francis’ synod is world-wide to hear the voices of all people around the world. Bishop Lucia is going to every area of the Diocese, and many churches, to listen to the people of the Diocese of Syracuse.

Below are reflection tools, documents, prayers, and activities to help families and children practice a spirit of Synodality and listening to one another and the Holy Spirit!

Synod at All Saints Information and Reflection Questions (A printable document that includes information, reflection questions, a prayer and space to jot down your thoughts!)

My Thoughts and Hopes of Church (A printable document that children, young people, and families can use to write a letter to Bishop Lucia for the listening session)

Prayer for the Synod on Synodality (A prayer for the Synod, that the Holy Spirit will guide us in our journey)

Synod Reflection Goose Game (A fun paper board game/reflection tool for children and families, as well other activities on the Vatican’s website as well!)

Synod Reflection Goose Game!

The Vatican has published a great game to use as a reflection tool with kids in preparation for the synod! It would also be a great idea to write down some of the thoughts you come up with to share at our Listening Session with Bishop Lucia!

Click here to download the game - In English as well as other languages! There are a few other activities for children and families as well on this website!
